I Love Bass Fishing !!

What a Great Summer!!

Boy what a great summer we have had here in Maine! Nice and warm with little rain. The smallmouth bass fishing was great. One day we went out fishing on the lake and I caught 25 smallmouth bass, I did not keep them I let them all go. I just like the thrill of catching them and I know it takes along time for them to become big ( like 30 years).

We have also been catching smallmouth bass right off our dock. These bass are weighing in between 3 -4 pounds. And the put up a good fight.

Fall also brings some good bass fishing and I will be out there!!

Spring is Here-Time to Bass Fish!

Finally spring is here and it's time to get out the fishing poles and do a lot of bass fishing. Here in Maine the water is still a little chilly, the water should be around 58 - 60 to be the best bass fishing. I went out fishing last Saturday and yes I caught a bass and he was a nice one. That was so much fun that I went back out fishing on Sunday and can you believe it I caught an other one that was also an average size bass. Of course I threw them back. I always throw back my bass when I catch them because did you know it takes a bass 30 years to get to a good size of 5 pounds. If we keep everyone that we catch there will never be any nice bass fishing. All we would have a small bass, which is not half as much fun to catch as the great big ones.
I will keep you posted on my next fishing trip.
